Singapore in 2010 took the lead of all foreign investors pouring money into the country, with investment value of US $4.35 billion, representing 25.2% of the total registered capital in the year, according to the General Statistics Office.

Runners-up are the Netherlands with US $2.364 billion, and Japan, US $2.04 billion. The Republic of Korea (RoK) and the US ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

The growth of Singapore’s investment in Việt Nam is attributed to projects of building urban areas, resorts and high-quality industrial zones.

As of December 21, 2010, there are 12,200 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of US $192.9 billion in Việt Nam. Among 92 countries and territories investing in Việt Nam, Taiwan is the biggest investor with US $22.8 billion, followed by the RoK with US $22.1 billion, Singapore with US $21.7 billion, Japan with US $20.8 billion, and Malaysia, US $18.3 billion./.
