Japan resumes ODA for Việt Nam

In his talks with Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Võ Hồng Phúc today in Tokyo, Japanese FM Hirofumi Nakasone hailed Việt Nam’s efforts in addressing issues relating to the PCI corruption case. He also asserted that his government will resume its provision of ODA to Việt Nam.

Japan’s official resumption of ODA granting to Việt Nam is an important decision for the bilateral relationship which is on the path to a long-term strategic partnership.

Both in his talks with the host FM and in his courtesy visit to PM Taro Aso, Minister Võ Hồng Phúc showed his pleasure at Japan’s decision.

He asserted that Japan’s ODA has played an important role in Việt Nam’s development over the past 35 years.

He stressed the Vietnamese Government’s determination for anti-corruption and commitment to the close coordination with Japan in effectively implementing ODA projects in the time to come.
