Granting Investment Certificate to the project “Factory on solar cell”

Currently, in Vietnam the application of solar cell for energy storage has been used in many fields and brought about some positive impacts. However, the production of solar cells in Vietnam is just in the research and testing period. Products on the market are mainly imported so the price is so high that they are not widely used in daily life. The investment in manufacturing solar cells in Vietnam can reduce the costs by 25-30%, which will bring more opportunities and choices to the users.

The Management Board of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park has granted an investment certificate to the project "Factory on solar battery" of ECO Energy Joint-stock Company on March 10, 2011, raising the number of granted investment certificate in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park to 52 projects (excluding projects have been revoked investment certificates), with total registered investment capital of 21,377 billion VND. By the end of 2010, 28 projects have started construction works in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, of which 17 projects have been put into production and business.

This project, with a total investment of 275 billion VND on an area of 1.1 ha, meets international standards since the modern technological lines imported from the Roth & Rau Company, Germany will be used. The main objective of the project is to research and manufacture of solar cells with the expected output scale of 2.5 MW/year.

After the project goes into operation, it will contribute to promote the study and production of high-tech products, to attract qualified workers to meet the demand for environmentally friendly products and to contribute to implement the energy-saving policy of the Party and the State.
