VN positioned in top 10 software processing markets

By jumping nine steps from its 2007 position, this year, Việt Nam is listed in Top 10 most attractive software processing countries in the world and the fastest emerging market in the Asia, according to the 2009 Global Services Location Index (GSLI) published by AT Kearney, the world-leading consulting company.

GSLI analyzed and ranked the top 50 countries worldwide specializing in software processing under such criteria as IT services and support, contact centers and back-office support. Each country’s score is composed of a weighted combination of relative scores on 43 measurements, which are grouped into three categories: financial attractiveness, people and skills availability and business environment.

AT Kearney assessed that Việt Nam’s software processing industry is dynamic, especially IT services. Japanese enterprises have selected the country as the best destination for providing outsourcing activities than any other country. In addition, Việt Nam is praised for low processing costs.

With the new rank, Việt Nam’s software industry has made a big leap forward, occupying a higher status in the global software and IT map.
