Government adjusts science park’s plan

Ha Noi (VNA) - The Government has issued guidelines on adjusting the planning of the Hoa Lac hi-tech park based on the review of the work conducted by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The decision on the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in the northern province of Ha Tay, signed by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, spelled out the need for the completion of detailed plans for the first phase of the project as well as the major areas of the hi-tech zone, the training zone and the metropolis as quickly as possible.

The Deputy PM also called for early budget estimates on local consultation services for the Minister of Science and Technology to consider for approval.

Work on the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park began on November 21, 1999 in Ha Tay province, a gateway into Ha Noi and is to focus on high-tech research, the fostering of hi-tech enterprises, the training of hi-tech human resources and the manufacturing of and trading in hi-tech products.
