Vietnam and Japan’s cooperation in field of nuclear power.

Foreign Minister of Viet Nam has just made a call to Japanese counterpart for agreement of strengthening nuclear power cooperation between two countries. Kyodo new agency stated that in a dialogue with Japanese State Secretary, Vietnamese Foreign Minister, concurrently Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem emphasized that Viet Nam had highly valued Japanese nuclear power technology and considered suggestion of Japan in this field. It means that Japanese businesses still have opportunities to join in building nuclear power factories in Viet Nam in future.

Vietnamese decided to choose Russia as partner for building the first nuclear power factory of Viet Nam in Ninh Thuan with reasons that Russian technology was extremely safe and Russia has pledged to train Vietnamese experts to motivate factory well and solved problems in time. Ninh Thuan nuclear power factory will be launched by 2014 and it will operate by 2020 with total cost of 8 billion USD. Vietnamese report agencies state that Viet Nam will have intended to find out 8 other places for building nuclear power factories.
