Groundbreaking of Hanoi’s Energy Management Training Centre

With the aim of training human resources for energy management to use energy saving and efficiently to meet the requirements of modernization, industrialization and socio - economic development of Vietnam up to 2020 and the Vision up to 2050, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Commerce (HDIC) decided to invest the project of Hanoi Energy Management Training Center in the area of 1.7 hectares, with the training scale of  3,600 student turns/year in the Education and Training Zone, Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park (HHTP).

Right after being approved by the HHTP Management Board, HDIC has actively implemented investment procedures of construction and officially began constructing the project on 20th April, 2015. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Construction, the HHTP Management Board, the International Cooperation Agency of Japan (JICA) and the relevant agencies.

The Project of constructing the Hanoi Energy Management Training Centre in HHTP received not only technical assistance and training programs of The Ministry of Industry and Commerce but also the assistance from Ministry of Construction in building training curriculum, equipment and teaching models of JICA. The technique applied in this project in accordance with the national technical standards of construction using energy saving and efficiency of Winrock, etc

After completion and put into operation, Hanoi Energy Management Training Centre will help to provide high-quality human resources for energy management for Hanoi and northern provinces as well as contribute to reducing the energy elasticity coefficient over GDP of Vietnam down to approximately 1.0 in 2020, on par with developed countries in the ASEAN region.
