Vietnamese, French cooperation in space technology
Scientists Vietnam wishes to expand cooperation in research and development with countries with advanced science, including the French Republic.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said so at the French-Vietnamese Workshop "Space Technology and Applications" by the Ministry of Science and Technology Agency in collaboration with the French aerospace organizations in Hanoi on 12/5.
The workshop aims to create an open forum for scientists, leading experts at home and abroad in the field of research and application of space technology has academic exchange opportunities, build programs, plans to cooperate towards the long-term benefits and sustainability for both sides. The workshop with the participation of representatives of many agencies and units, research institutes and a number of experts on space technology of the two countries.
Most clearly demonstrates the cooperation in science and technology the two countries Vietnam, France, the Agreement on cooperation in science and technology between the French Government and the Government of Vietnam signed 3/2007. France recently helped Vietnam in the following projects: Fabrication and VNREDSat-1 satellite launch, successfully implemented the project "Observation of fishing vessels by satellite technology-Movimar". In the years recently, many countries were interested in the problem space research, particularly technology applications exploit outer space for peaceful purposes.
In that spirit, space technology in Vietnam was identified as one of the technology development priorities in the development strategy of science and technology in Vietnam to 2020 and 2030. The government views with the community scientific and technological co universe Vietnam has made more than 60 strategic and research projects for the development of space technology and space technology applications to serve economic development and social security naitional defense.
Typically the small satellite technology, remote sensing applications and geographic information systems (GIS), environmental monitoring, weather forecasting, construction of satellite image processing software, the application uses location technology satellite-navigation in maritime traffic, rocket technology, the basic research on materials in the space environment, medical-biological universe, cosmic energy transmission ... Two defense Vinasat-1 communications satellite, Vinasat-2 is operating effectively; Remote sensing satellites VNRED Sat-1 has started for the positive results in research and application of space technology; VNRED satellite projects Sat-2 are also being actively cooperate with Belgian and European countries, is expected to be launched in the near future; construction projects National Space Centre are urgently implemented.
