USA put Vietnam on the list of nuclear technology transfer

America has added Vietnam to the list of countries allowed to receive technology transfer and nuclear assistance after the Nuclear Cooperation Agreement US-Vietnam Civil effect.

Information from the US Embassy in Vietnam said Day 5-3 Security Agency National Nuclear Energy Ministry recently updated Federal regulations (Section 810 of the Ministry of Federal Regulations 10, call referred to as Part 810) governing the export aid and nuclear technology are not classified as confidential.

Accordingly, section 810 allows for civil nuclear commerce by ensuring that nuclear technology and assistance in the field of export from the United States will only be used for peaceful purposes.

Scope of the Agreement of cooperation include: developing the use of nuclear energy; research, development and application of nuclear reactor technology for civil, management of used fuel; training, development of infrastructure and human resources; research and application of radioisotopes in industry, agriculture, health and environment; radiation protection, radioactive waste management, spent fuel; safety, security, safeguards and non-proliferation.

Agreement in effect for 30 years, will continue in force for the period of 5 years and may be amended upon agreement between the two sides through diplomatic channels.
