Hoa Lac to become high-tech and ecological urban area
Hoa Lac in Hanoi's west is to become a new urban area equipped with modern social and technological infrastructure, playing a role in reducing population pressures in the center of the capital, according to the general planning tasks for the Hoa Lac Urban Area approved by the Prime Minister.
Spanning Quoc Oai district, Thach That district, and Son Tay town, on 17,294 hectares, the Hoa Lac Urban Area will feature four specialized functional areas, including the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and other universities displaced from the city center, the Hoa Lac High-tech Park, a medical center, and an ecological urban area.
The Prime Minister sought careful analysis and evaluation of the local natural conditions, population, existing technical and social infrastructure, and the environment, so that a suitable construction plan can be compiled. The general planning also calls for the adoption of solutions to preserve agricultural land use and protect land for ecological conservation.
Upon completion Hoa Lac will be a science and technology urban area bringing together knowledge and advanced technologies with high quality human resources, as well as an ecological resort. All infrastructure will be built based on the natural terrain.
