VN gets higher in global IT competitiveness

Việt Nam landed the 53rd place in the latest global IT competitiveness ranking, marking three steps higher than the previous position, according to a report jointly published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and the Business Software Alliance (BSA).

The report “Investment for future: Benchmarking IT industry competitiveness 2011” compares 66 countries on the extent to which they are capable of supporting a strong IT production sector.

This year, Việt Nam scored 27.1 points which is 2.1 higher than the previous report.

Specifically, the country gained 60.8 points for business environment; 23.5 points for IT infrastructure; 23.5 points for human capital; 0.2 points for research and development environment; 50.0 points for legal environment; and 43.5 points for supporting IT industry development.

The US continues to lead the rankings, followed by Finland and Singapore.

The rankings witness gigantic performance of Malaysia, Singapore and India./.
