Gov’t promulgates Decree on self-production and self-consumption rooftop solar power
All households, public buildings, industrial parks, processing zones, high-tech parks, production facilities shall be allowed to develop rooftop solar power, according to the Decree.
A household shall be allowed to install a rooftop solar power system for self-consumption with the maximum capacity of below 100 kW.
Individuals and organizations, who install rooftop solar power system with capacity of 1,000 kW and above and expect to sell electricity to the national grid, shall have to comply with procedures related to electricity planning and apply for power operation license.
Self-production and self-consumption rooftop solar power shall be entitled to enjoy preferential tax policies in accordance with current regulations.
Organizations and individuals who invest in rooftop solar projects but do not fully utilize their capacity shall be allowed to sell up to 20 percent of the installed capacity to the national grid.
The Decree shall take effect from October 22, 2024./.
