Quarter I / 2016: Attracting FDI rose sharply over the same period of 2015

Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment) recently announced capital situation attracted foreign direct investment in Quarter I / 2016 with a good signal from the same period in 2015.

Also in the same time, the country has registered 203 projects respectively adjusted capital with total additional registered capital is 1.285 billion dollars, an increase of 107% compared to the same period of 2015.

Thus, overall in the first quarter / 2016, the total newly registered and additional capital of 4.026 billion US dollars, up 119.1% from the same period in 2015.

Regarding disbursement, up to 20/3, estimates of FDI projects has disbursed $ 3.5 billion, an increase of 14.8% over the same period in 2015.

Foreign investors have invested in 19 sectors, including sectors of processing industry, manufacturing sector is attracted 216 investment projects registered, the total number of newly registered and additional capital is $ 2.9 billion, accounting for 72.2% of total registered capital in the quarter.

Business areas Property No. 2 with 11 new projects, the total newly registered capital and increased 239.78 million, accounting for nearly 6% of the total registered capital. With a large project with a total investment of 210.58 million dollars, the field of arts, entertainment and recreation was third, accounting for 5.2% of total investment.

In the first quarter, South Korea is the leading country among 40 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with total investment capital of newly registered and additional capital of US $ 888.6 million, representing 22% of total investment . Singapore ranked second with a total investment of newly registered and additional capital of 554 million, accounting for 13.7% of total investment capital. Taiwan ranked No. 3 with newly registered capital and additional capital of 465.6 million USD, accounting for 11.5% of total investment capital.

In the last quarter, as the local Dong Nai attracted most FDI capital with 26 new projects and 34 projects adjusted capital, with a total registered capital of newly and additionally is $ 585 million, accounting for 14.5 % total investment.
