Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park and Program of attracting hi-tech small and medium enterprises

The 4th Annual Technology Business Conference ("TBC"), organized by the co-operation among IDG Ventures Vietnam, DFJ Vina Capital and SAVVi, consists of 2 days (October 13-14) of provocative and insightful commentary to explore these questions with seasoned executives as well as experienced investors working in Vietnam. It is an ideal event for entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, technology companies, bankers, financial executives and other interested professionals to explore how entrepreneurship and innovation in a developing country can spur economic success.

In framework of the forum, HHTP Management Board signed an MOU with partners, including IDG Ventures Vietnam, DFJ VinaCapital and SAVVi to implement Program of attracting small and medium enterprises in the field of hi – tech (SMEs) to invest in Hoa Lac Hi-tech park.

Contents of MOU include:

1. HHTP MB shall develop and manage a program to attract investments from existing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the high-tech industries to Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park (referred to herein as “Program”). HHTP MB shall contribute funds from the Government and expertise to build the ecosystem to sustain a high tech business incubator, including infrastructure, supporting facilities, leased-back factories, business operations, etc. as part of this Program. In addition, HHTP MB shall also provide investors/incubated companies under this Program with the most preferential investment incentive policy in accordance with the prevailing Vietnamese law.

2. Venture Funds shall consider making investments in incubated companies under this Program if they meet the Venture Funds’ investment requirements.

3. Venture Funds and SAVVi shall assist HHTP MB in researching and implementing the appropriate model for investments by government bodies, corporations and other professional off-shore funds.

4. Venture Funds and SAVVi shall help provide guidance or strategy for incubated companies under the Program.

5. Venture Funds and SAVVi shall help develop human resources, i.e. introduction of qualified personnel(via Overseas Vietnameses and other business organizations).

6. SAVVi shall help market the Program with Overseas Vietnamese.

7. HHTP MB shall try its best to create the most favorable conditions for all activities of Venture Funds and SAVVi in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.
