HN – major driving force
All provinces in the region help foster connectivity; share functions and support each other.
With high rates of urbanization, Ha Noi Capital, Vinh Phuc and Bac Ninh play the central role with strengths in industry, human training, infrastructure.
As the Capital, Ha Noi serves as the political and administrative nerve-centre; the cultural, educational, scientific, and technological hub of Viet Nam; one of the economic, tourism, trade, and service centers in the Asia Pacific region. By 2030, Ha Noi’s urbanization rate would reach 65-70%.
Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam in the Southeast of the Red River Delta will uphold their advantages as the gateways to develop sea-oriented transport system (Ha Noi-Pho Noi-Hai Duong-Hai Phong corridor); the South economic triangle (Hung Yen-Dong Van-Phu Ly); clean industrial parks, logistics, commercial centers, healthcare facilities, agro-production sites.
The northern midland provinces of Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Giang function as gateways for the Ha Noi Capital Region to the Northern Midland and Mountainous Regions.
Hoa Binh serves as an ecological and environmental protection region and is in charge of national technical infrastructure (like water and electricity supply, flood control, water protection). Phu Tho will develop heritage cultural and tourism regions and ecological tourism. Thai Nguyen will develop high-quality healthcare and education services for the region. Bac Giang will serve as an export and import gateway and entrepôt center of the Region to Huu Nghi international bordergate; a tourism center; a business hub with Northeast provinces in the Northern Midland and Mountainous regions./.
