FOREIGN EMPLOYEES shall be subjected to compulsory social insurance
Foreign employees working in Viet Nam shall be required to pay social insurance premiums since December 1, 2018, according to the Government’s recent Decree
The new regulation shall only be applied to foreign nationals who are granted work permits by Vietnamese competent authorities and work under labor contract of at least one year
The compulsory social insurance package shall cover sickness, maternity, workplace accidents, occupational diseases, retirement, and death.
Since January 1, 2022, foreign employees shall have to pay a monthly premium of 8% of their income to the retirement and death fund, according to the Decree.
