Nearly 54,000 enterprises were founded in the first five months of 2019, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.2%, setting a record high  over the past five years, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

The GSO reported that the rising startup wave continues to serve as a channel mobilizing capital for the economy.

In the January-May period, 54,000 enterprises were founded, up 3.2% against 2018, marking the record level over the past five years.

They poured VND 669 trillion of registered capital, up 29.6% against the same period last year. Average registered  capital per enterprise hit VND 12.4 billion, up 25.6% against the same period last year.
