Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology visited Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park
On May 17th, 2013, Dr. Nguyen Quan, Member of Central Committee of Communist Party, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) paid a working visit to Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park (HHTP). Mr. Tran Viet Thanh, Deputy Minister of MOST and representatives of leaders from Department of High Technology, Department of Personnel and Organization, Department of Planning and General Affairs, Department of Finance, and key leaders from Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park Management Board attended the meeting.

At the meeting, on behalf of HHTP Management Board, Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Chairman, reported to Dr. Nguyen Quan on HHTP’s development as well as difficulties.

Comments of leaders from Departments of MOST
After hearing comments from Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh and representatives of leaders from Departments of MOST, Dr. Nguyen Quan had made some conclusion and guidance to HHTP Management Board as follows:
• To closely coordinate with concerned ministries, Ha noi People’s Committee and local authorities in accelerating the land clearance process, creating “clear sites” for implementing infrastructure development projects funded by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the Japanese Government, projects funded by the State budget as well as projects owned by other investors.
• To accomplish necessary procedures for promptly submitting the 2nd amended master plan of HHTP to the Prime Minister for approval.
• To fulfill the formulation of investment incentives offered by HHTP and submit those to the Prime Minister for further promulgation, in order to create preferential conditions for investment attraction and high quality human resources working in HHTP.
• To accomplish compiling and submitting to Prime Minister the new decision to revise the Decision No. 98/2009/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on functions, tasks and responsibilities of HHTP Management Board. Accepting the proposal by the Chairman of HHTP on strengthening the organizational structure, management team of the Management Board, increasing the number of staff in administrative careers.
• Decentralizing a certain number of ministry’s powers and responsibilities to HHTP Management Board.
In the framework of the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quan emphasized that he would chair the meeting between HHTP Management Board and functional units/ departments of MOST quarterly to discuss methods or solutions to handle the obstacles in the process of HHTP’s development.
