Located in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City, SHTP was established on October 24, 2002 by the Government.The Park is developed on an area of 913 hectares and includes two phases of development, of which the first Phase occupies 300 hectares and 613 hectares of the remaining area is of the second Phase. With a strategic location which is in proximity to the city's center, airport and sea ports of HCMC, and surrounded by 43 industrial parks and export processing zones of the Focal Economic Region of Southern Vietnam, the Park has full advantages to become a "technology and science city", a heartland and a spearhead of HCMC and the nation.

SHTP Key Milestones

■ Late 2002
- Established with the approval of the Prime Minister

■ 2008 - 2010

- House-opening of SHTP Labs: Precision Mechanic and Automation Lab, Nano Technology Lab and Semiconductor Lab;

- Opening and putting into operation of SHTP Waste Water Treatment Plant.

■ 2004 - 2006

- Issuance of Decision No. 53 by Prime Minister on investment incentives in hi-tech parks;
- Establishment of SHTP R&D Center (SHTP Labs);
- Establishment of SHTP Training Center
- Investment certificate to Nidec Corp. - one of SHTP's anchor tenants.

■ 2006 - 2008
- Se-lected as one of five focal economic projects of HCMC for the period of 2006-2010;
- Issuance of investment certificate to $ US 1 billion project of Intel Corporation;
- Establishment of SHTP Incubation Centre (SHBI). 

■ 2010 - 2013

- Announcement of Phase 1's completion and start of Phase 2;
- Awarded 3rd-ranked Labor Medal by Prime Minister;
- Continued to be one of five focal economic projects of HCMC for the period of 2011 - 2015;
- Grand-opening of Intel Products Vietnam's factory;
- SHTP 10th Anniversary and ASPA 16th Annual Conference;
- SHTP 1st Annual Conference 2013.

Association of Asia-Tech Park (ASPA)

ASPA is an international nongovernmental organization established in Japan in 1997 for the purpose of accomplishing the joint development in the fields of scientific technology, industry and economy in the Asian region.
ASPA has been trying to present a new paradigm for Asian industry and build economic consensus in Asia by bringing innovative organizations, companies and individuals together that make contributions to industrial and economic development in their societies. 
The efforts to achieve these goals include holding international events which can boost exchanges of experience, knowledge and various projects and share industrial and economic resources through the expanding network.

Business incubation centers of high technology, the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park

Incubation centers of high-tech enterprises (HBI) was established under Decision No. 2629 / QD-BKHCN 29/12/2006 by the Minister of Science and Technology signed, is a tool of economic development in order to promote the development of enterprises based on advanced technologies in the start-up phase through infrastructure systems and services.

Center for Business Incubation tech (HBI) is a component of the training cycle - research, deployment - production - commercialization of products in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. With the non-profit criterion, the preferential policies of the State. Center will offer special opportunities for organizations and individuals that have established business idea and commercialize products based on high technology. Centre incubators help partners reduce costs, mitigate risks in the process of starting a business; while providing practical utility system through the facilities and services.

The partners involved in HBI incubators are working in a favorable environment for the formation and development of enterprises of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park include infrastructure systems and modern synchronization, the links resulted f-rom the functional areas such as R & D zone, hi-tech industrial Park, the software, the high-tech trade, the services ... and more opportunities to access financial resources; The link f-rom the Institute - University - Enterprise ... and the organizations and individuals active in the field of science and technology at home and abroad.

With a team of local and foreign experts, professional working methods; with support f-rom the Ministry of Science & Technology and the relevant ministries; organizations in the country and internationally, we believe, HBI will bring success for you.

On 06 July 2011, Customs Office was officially opened at HHTP.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Customs Branch Hatay has reported on the implementation of e-customs procedures at the Customs Branch of Ha Tay and awarded certificates to 05 enterprises to participate in e-customs procedures here.

Leaders of the Hanoi Department of Customs said that the implementation of e-customs procedures has brought many benefits to the business community: Enterprise not to the customs office, the right to be informed of shipments subject exemption f-rom inspection records and the actual paper conversion, declared 24/7 days, check the order of priority, are se-lected form recurring fee payment, used electronic records to the liquidity of processing contract manufacturing and importing raw materials exports, .... Thus, in addition to significant savings of time, cost and manpower, modern procedures will help enterprises accelerate the liberation imports, reduce inventory levels, thereby increasing the competitiveness of enterprises.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - Deputy Minister, Head of the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park management team congratulated customs procedures Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and expressed his wish for the future, there will be more businesses declared by implementing electronic customs procedures, contribute to facilitate production and business activities.
